Family owned and operated Nani’s Restaurant opened in July of 2015 and are located on Work Drive just off Hanson Ave. They serve diner comfort food for breakfast and lunch. If you enjoy fresh made breakfast or lunch, then you must give them a try. Their story is one of humble beginnings, faith and determination. They went from being homeless, to purchasing their own home to opening their restaurant. Owners Sherry and Peter Kline operate Nani’s Restaurant with their children. Peter is in the kitchen, Sherry is the front of the house person. We met and spoke with Sherry and she is truly an inspiration. We recommend you read the entire inspirational story by going to ABOUT NANI’S
We visited Nani’s Restaurant for breakfast, which is served all day. They offer everything from omelets to breakfast sandwiches, to eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, pancakes, French toast, grits and country fried steak and eggs. Prices range from $3.95-9.50. For lunch, they offer soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. Lunch prices range from $3.00-$9.50. Their menu is available on their site at MENU
We settled on the French toast with bacon, the Poppy’s breakfast and a breakfast sandwich. The Poppy’s breakfast is country fried steak and eggs with potatoes or grits and choice of toast. The fried steak was seasoned nicely. If not cooked properly the steak can be tough but not in this case. The potatoes were fresh and seasoned well. Too often breakfast meals can be bland with not taste but not at Nani’s.
The French toast has 4 slices which are cut in half. The bacon was crisp too. The breakfast sandwich of egg and cheese with bacon on a croissant was also very flavorful. The key here is that all meals are made fresh to order so they are served hot. They deliver and you can get your meals to go. While we were they we saw many doing just that. They seem to stop by on their way to work.
The service is friendly and timely. There is a counter for seating as well as plenty of tables and chairs. If you are looking for a restaurant the serves quality diner comfort food without having to pay an arm and a leg for it, then Nani’s is worth visiting.
