RonDao’s Pizzeria & Sports Bar

15320 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908, United States

RonDao's Pizzeria and Sports BarLocated on McGregor Blvd in the Iona/McGregor area is RonDao’s. They opened in 2001 and are a sport bar and pizzeria. In 2015 it was sold to the current owners. The building itself however, has been around a long time. It was once the Seafood Center and Crabhous among other restaurants.

I bring this up as the building is old and dated and needs a face lift. This does affect the overall atmosphere. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the hostess who too us to out seat. RonDao’s has several dining areas and a bar. To the right of the entrance is pool tables as well as some seating. Heading straight back, there is a large dining area with several TV’s. We were told this is where they show football games etc. To the left is the bar area as well as a large dining area with even more TV’s. There is no doubt there are plenty of TV’s to watch your favorite sports game.

Our waiter was a bit slow to arrive and when he did he just tossed the drink coasters onto the table and asked what we would like to drink. I know this is a sports bar but that is a bit unprofessional. After getting out drinks we placed our order. We settled on some wings and burgers.

For the wings, they are not breaded which is a nice change. We had them with mild sauce with hot sauce on the side. The wings were a nice size and had a decent amount of meat on them. They were fried perfectly. The hot sauce, however, was sweet. It was not anything I am used to having when having hot wing sauce. I just had to ask the staff what was in the sauce to cause this sweetness. I was told orange juice and jelly. I kid you not. I have never heard of these being used in hot wing sauce. The burgers were on the other hand really very good! They were cooked just as we asked them for. The fires were also very flavorful. The coleslaw has their homemade dressing on it and was very good.

RonDao's Pizzeria and Sports BarThe menu has typical sports bar food, pizza’s as well as some dinners. I do not think I would go there for dinner. I would however go there to watch games. Maybe a Bills game or two come football season. I hope they give place a face lift as it just feels old and tired. It needs new table/chairs and booths. I swear the booths have been the same since the 1980’s. It is also rather dark in there so some fresh light paint on the walls would help.

Overall RonDao’s is just average, except for the burgers. If you are in the area and want to watch some sports games, there is plenty of TV and seating. From what they tell me, on Sunday’s when the Buffalo Bills have games, you need to get there early if you want to get a seat.

Overall All: Average
